Relaxed, emotional and the perfect way to end my 2025 season
Some weddings stay with you forever.
Amy and Will’s wedding was such a special one for me for so many reasons.
Not only was it a beautiful day from start to finish, but it was also the final wedding of my entire 2025 season. After photographing 32 weddings throughout the year, I honestly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to end it.
Over the past three years, Amy and Will have supported my business in the most wonderful way. Since their little boy was born, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph their family several times, watching their story unfold through the lens and getting to know them properly along the way. What started as client bookings slowly turned into something much more - and they’ve become dear friends. So when they asked me to photograph their wedding day, it genuinely meant the world. Being trusted to capture such an important moment for people who have supported my business and cheered me on over the years was incredibly special.
The Pumping House Wedding Venue
Amy and Will chose the stunning The Pumping House as their wedding venue, and it couldn’t have suited their day more perfectly.
If you’ve never been to The Pumping House before, it’s such a unique venue with incredible industrial character, beautiful spaces for ceremonies and receptions, and so many lovely spots for portraits.
The venue looked absolutely incredible, thanks to the amazing styling by The Wedding Collective and the beautiful florals from The Bell Jar Flowers. Everything felt thoughtful, elegant and completely personal to Amy and Will.
And somehow… the weather even behaved for us in the middle of winter, which honestly felt like a tiny Christmas miracle.
A Relaxed Morning of Wedding Preparations
The morning started with a really chilled atmosphere during prep. One of my favourite kinds of wedding mornings - calm, excited and full of laughter.
Amy looked absolutely stunning as always, with makeup by Ebony O Makeup and hair by Samantha Ashley. Meanwhile Will was looking equally as dapper in his suit, ready for the day ahead. The whole morning had such a lovely energy as everyone got ready and the anticipation built for the ceremony.
There’s always something extra special about photographing friends on their wedding day. You’re capturing the same moments, but you’re also experiencing them a little more personally too.
A Beautiful and Personal Ceremony
Amy and Will’s ceremony took place inside The Pumping House with the Nottinghamshire registrar, and it was genuinely one of the most thoughtful ceremonies.
They had clearly put so much care into making it feel personal and meaningful, and there were definitely a few emotional moments throughout.
Somehow, completely unexpectedly, I actually got a mention during the ceremony which caught me totally off guard. It was such a lovely moment and meant so much - although it definitely tested my ability to keep it together behind the camera.
Amy and Will also wanted to make sure their ceremony was captured from multiple angles, so I arranged for one of my trusted second photographers to join me for that part of the day, ensuring we could document every moment and perspective as it unfolded.
Confetti and the Best Atmosphere
After the ceremony we headed outside for one of the best confetti moments.
There was so much confetti and honestly I will never complain about that. It always makes for such fun, joyful photos and the energy afterwards was amazing.
Effortless Couple Portraits
Amy and Will were an absolute dream to photograph, as they always are!
They didn’t need much guidance at all - they were just completely themselves with each other. Relaxed, natural, and clearly so happy to be celebrating their day together. That’s always when the best moments happen.
Their lovely dog Zero also joined us for some photos during the afternoon, which made it even more special. I will always fully support dogs attending weddings.
And honestly… just look at them. Absolutely gorgeous.
Speeches in a Beautiful Setting
The speeches were such a lovely part of the day. Everyone gathered together inside The Pumping House, and the setting was absolutely gorgeous as the evening light started to come in.
There were plenty of laughs, some really heartfelt moments, and that wonderful atmosphere where you can feel just how much everyone in the room cares about the couple.
It was one of those parts of the day where everything slows down for a moment and you really get to take in the emotion of it all.
An Evening of Music, Dancing and One of My Favourite Photos Ever
The evening celebrations began with a sparkler moment outside with all of Amy and Will’s guests - always such a lovely way to kick off the evening part of the day. There was even a little more confetti involved, with Amy and Will throwing it at each other which made for some really fun photos.
Guests then made their way onto the dance floor while the incredibly talented Lily Kerbey sang to start the evening celebrations (go check her out if you're a fellow alternative music lover). She also performed Amy and Will’s first dance live, which made the moment feel even more special.
After that, the DJ took over and the evening party began. At one point a song by Sleep Token came on, which Alex absolutely loved - especially impressive considering he’d spent most of the day feeling a bit poorly.
The rest of the evening was full of lovely moments on the dance floor, with everyone enjoying the celebrations and soaking up the final part of such a special day.
Later in the evening Amy and Will came along with me for one final set of portraits. I gave them the prompt to “lean into each other like the night is over” and in that moment I captured one of my favourite photographs I’ve ever taken.
It’s actually the image I’ve chosen to lead the homepage of my new website when the revamp launches - a photo that perfectly sums up the emotion and closeness of their day.
The Perfect End to My 2025 Wedding Season
After photographing 32 weddings throughout the year, finishing the season with Amy and Will’s wedding felt incredibly special.
The venue was beautiful, the suppliers were amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, and being trusted to capture such an important day for friends meant more than I can say.
Amy and Will, thank you a million times over for asking me to photograph your wedding. I’ll never get over how special it was to be part of it.
